Our mind and perspective are two very strong forces and can affect our attitudes and temperament. They alter our moods and can significantly determine how we interact with others. Therefore, a sound mind and a positive perspective should also be one of our priorities. We should take care of our peace so we can also take care of others. Keep in mind that you can’t give what you don’t have. Our peace should be treated as a valuable asset in our lives. We should give the same value to it as our work, business, and relationships. However, this is a tall task, and we will sometimes have to also contend with trivial matters just to maintain contentment.
Thankfully, we are under the care of our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. We have immediate help whenever we need it. Here are some thoughts and verses to remind us that we don’t have to take care of our sanity on our own.
1.) The sustenance for our peace is the holy spirit. As long as we remain righteous in the eyes of our Lord, He will carry our burdens for us.
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalms 55:22
2.) In the midst of trials and challenges, we can confidently keep our peace. For the Holy Spirit is within us, going before us, guiding us, and leading us.
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
3.) What use is worrying when God has given us the opportunity to offer up our troubles to him?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
4.) When we see ourselves becoming weary of all the burdens we carry, we should remember this.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29
5.) Simply put, He cares for you.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
In the future, if your worries are threatening your peace, just remember His word. It’s all you’ll ever need.
