The power of prayer is important at all times but especially whenever life becomes extremely hectic or chaotic and you appear to be moving further and further away from God. Not on purpose by any means, but we tend to forget about the importance of prayer when everything is going well for us. If we do not make prayer a routine in our lives, it’s easy to forget when you are wrapped up in and side tracked by your daily obligations such as work, home chores, kids, and other responsibilities you may have and not meet the most crucial and important step which is setting a side time to pray. If you don’t believe in the awesome power of prayer, life will obviously feel chaotic.
Sometimes it is difficult to get everything done on your plate in one day, especially when unforeseen circumstances get in the way. During these times, you need to sit back, relax, breathe, and slow down. The important thing to remember is to keep a constant relationship with your father, God, which works just like any other relationship. However, your focus on Him should be much deeper than any of other relationship, and the payoff is way much greater. Praying to God on a consistent basis will help you to be closer to Him and will allow you to hear His voice because He is always there waiting to hear from you through your prayers. The more you pray, the more you will hear from him and the more you hear from him, the stronger your relationship will become. This way, your doubts will be diminished and your faith in Him will grow. Eventually, praying (or merely having a conversation) becomes second nature. This is when the power of prayer will be realized. Your blessings will increase, obstacles in your life will diminish, and prayers will be answered with amazing astonishment.
God’s word, in the bible, is filled with accounts describing the power of prayer in different situations. The power of prayer has overcome enemies (Psalm 6:9-10), conquered death (2 Kings 4:3-36), brought healing (James 5:14-15), and defeated demons (Mark 9:29). Through prayer, eyes are opened, a change of heart is achieved, wounds are healed, and wisdom is granted (James 1:5). The power of prayer should never be underestimated. It is the spiritual life line that draws from the glory and might of our infinite creator, and all mighty God of the universe!
